Snowshoeing in the forest
Visitors to Biei can enjoy snowshoeing through a forest of Japanese white birch covered in powder snow and views of a gorgeous blue river. The contrast between the Blue Pond, which is the source of the river, and the pure white snow is amazing.
Mt. Tokachi and snow-covered hills

Blue Pond
The famous Blue Pond is a great destination even in winter. Transforming from pure white when the frozen pond is covered in snow, to vivid blue makes for a particularly beautiful scene.
